Abstract

This article explores several effective ways of teaching grammar that enhance learners’ understanding, motivation, and language proficiency. It discusses answering the questions which is “What is grammar?”, “Why teach grammar?”, “How to teach grammar from rules?”, “How to teach grammar from examples?”, “How to teach grammar through texts?”, “How to test grammar?”, “How to practice grammar?” and others. It also redefines the concept of grammar, framing it as a dynamic process called 'grammaring.' Finally, this article identifies a number of key issues relating to teaching of grammar and points to a number of alternative solutions to each problem.
