This article examines paradigmatic and syntagmatic relations through a novel lens. It provides an in-depth analysis of the nature and function of these relationships within language. Paradigmatic relations are shown to enable the selection of linguistic units based on equivalence or similarity, allowing the formation of words and structures through substitution. On the other hand, syntagmatic relations are explored as the sequential arrangement of linguistic elements, forming chains or series that contribute to the overall meaning and structure of sentences. The paper highlights the essential role these two types of relations play in the dynamic construction of language, offering new insights into their interdependent functions.
