Abstract

Translation is a complex cognitive process that requires the human brain to navigate multiple languages simultaneously. This paper explores the cognitive mechanisms behind translation, including working memory, executive functions, and neural plasticity. It also discusses how bilingual and multilingual individuals process and switch between languages, and how cognitive load affects translation efficiency. By examining recent findings in neuroscience and psycholinguistics, this study sheds light on the intricate relationship between language and cognition. Additionally, the paper highlights challenges translators face and strategies to enhance cognitive skills for improved translation performance.
