Abstract

This article provides an overview of psycholinguistics, the interdisciplinary field exploring the cognitive mechanisms of human language. We examine key areas of research, including the acquisition of first and second languages, the mental processes involved in lexical retrieval and sentence comprehension, and the neurological underpinnings of language. The impact of brain damage and language disorders such as dyslexia is also discussed.
