Abstract

This article offers an in-depth look at the transformation of the family institution in Uzbekistan, particularly as perceived by civil servants facing new societal and global demands. It examines the interplay of traditional family values—long-rooted in extended familial ties and culturally prescribed gender roles—with such contemporary influences as digitalization, evolving gender norms, and growing economic diversification. Using policy document reviews, sociological research, and case illustrations, the article reveals how civil servants are navigating a dual responsibility: upholding professional standards of public service while adapting their personal and familial relationships to modern challenges. The analysis finds that stable family dynamics—including equitable role distribution and open communication—serve as a crucial support system for civil servants, enhancing their resilience and professional efficacy. Conclusively, the paper underscores the importance of comprehensive policy reforms, continued research, and practical measures—such as flexible work policies and educational outreach—to harmonize evolving family practices with national cultural identity and the professional obligations of civil servants.
