Abstract

This article explores the evolving field of lexicographical research in the Uzbek language, highlighting its historical roots, current trends, and future directions. It examines how Uzbek lexicography has developed from traditional dictionaries to modern digital platforms, focusing on the role of neologisms, globalization, and technological advancements. Special attention is given to the challenges lexicographers face in balancing language preservation with the integration of loanwords and new terms. Additionally, the article discusses the impact of artificial intelligence and digital tools on the creation and updating of Uzbek dictionaries. The ongoing tension between maintaining linguistic purity and adapting to a globalized world is a key theme, along with the importance of preserving regional dialects and linguistic heritage.
