Abstract

Listening and speaking are fundamental components of second language acquisition, particularly in daily conversation, where learners have limited exposure to the target language outside the classroom. The importance of daily listening to improve speaking skills is sometimes underestimated, resulting in low confidence, poor usage of language chunks in the speech. This paper investigates the specific difficulties faced by Uzbek EFL learners in their speaking skills, and highlights the benefits of collaborative practice between these listening and Speaking. The article also offers practical recommendations for educators to support students in overcoming these obstacles and becoming more competent and confident in English.
