Abstract

In this article we will look at how allophones affect the understand od non-native English accents. Allophones are small pitch changes in speech. In English the same letter can sound different in different words. Native speakers use these sounds without thinking, but non-native speakers do not use the correct allophones, which makes it difficult for people to understand them.
