Vocabulary lies at the center of second language acquisition. The thesis discusses the contribution of word knowledge in the development of fundamental language abilities and presents effective strategies for learning vocabulary. Research substantiates that a strong vocabulary has a positive influence on listening, reading, writing, and speaking.
