The COVID-19 pandemic was a global event that fundamentally reshaped society. Beyond the immediate health crisis, the pandemic left an indelible mark on the collective psyche. Lockdowns, social distancing measures, and the pervasive fear of infection led to unprecedented levels of isolation and loneliness. While the acute phase of the pandemic has subsided, the psychological consequences of this period continue to reverberate, impacting mental health, social behavior, and overall well-being. This article explores the multifaceted effects of pandemic-induced isolation and loneliness, examining the short-term and long-term impacts on individuals and communities.
