This study investigates the effectiveness of instructional strategies in teaching writing to English as a Second Language (ESL) students at the primary and lower-secondary levels. Grounded in process-oriented writing pedagogy and cognitive learning theory, the research explores how scaffolded instruction, visual aids, and collaborative tasks impact writing fluency, structural accuracy, and learner confidence. The intervention was implemented in a multilingual classroom setting over a six-week period. The results suggest that targeted writing instruction significantly improves students’ written output, enhances syntactic and lexical complexity, and fosters positive attitudes toward writing. The study offers practical recommendations for integrating writing-focused activities into regular ESL curricula to better support learners' linguistic and cognitive development.
