Abstract

This article is devoted to the role of the “green revolution” in the development of agriculture - the main source of food for a rapidly growing population. The consequences of the introduction of high-yielding varieties and technologies for their cultivation, which led to the degradation of natural resources, soil salinization and desertification, as well as current trends in the development of robotics and artificial intelligence (AI) in achieving food and climate goals are considered.
