TEACHING METHODS FOR ENGLISH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE
Abstract
In an increasingly interconnected world, proficiency in English has become more than just a linguistic skill—it is a gateway to academic success, professional opportunities, and cross-cultural communication. As English continues to dominate global discourse in fields such as science, technology, and international relations, the demand for effective English as a Second Language (ESL) instruction continues to rise. Educators are thus challenged to select and implement teaching methodologies that not only accommodate diverse learner needs but also foster comprehensive language acquisition. This article explores a range of pedagogical approaches that have proven instrumental in teaching English to non-native speakers, highlighting their theoretical foundations, practical applications, and potential limitations.
