Abstract

In today's globalized world, the ability to understand and use language effectively is essential for future psychologists. Linguocognitive competence, which includes both language skills and cognitive abilities, helps professionals interpret and respond to clients' needs. This article explores how contrastive studies—comparing two or more languages and cultures—can support the development of linguocognitive competence among psychology students. By learning how different languages express emotions, thoughts, and social meanings, students become more prepared to work in diverse environments. The paper argues that contrastive methods, when integrated into psychology education, enhance both theoretical knowledge and practical communication skills.
