THE USE OF LARYNGEAL MASKS IN ANESTHESIA MANAGEMENT FOR DIFFICULT AIRWAY ACCESS
Abstract
Airway management is one of the critical components of safe anesthesia practice. In scenarios where conventional intubation techniques fail, or where airway access is anatomically or functionally compromised, the use of alternative airway devices becomes crucial.
Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA) has emerged as a pivotal tool in the management of difficult airways. Since its introduction by Dr. Archie Brain in 1981, LMAs have undergone significant advancements, allowing for increased versatility and reliability in various clinical settings.
