The findings of a study on how to portray allusions to proper names in English are presented in this publication. Using a proper name in a variety of linguistic settings is the most common technique to depict an allusion, according to an analysis of a large corpus of data taken from contemporary British fiction; a less common is to utilize an adjective that comes from the proper name; the creation of a verb by conversion is an extremely uncommon occurrence.
